About Faculty
The Department of Chemistry began its undergraduate teaching program in 1978 and, by expanding its curricula and research activities, opened a master’s program in 1993 and a Ph.D. program in 2004 with specializations in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Inorganic chemistry. In 2009 the department was upgraded to the Faculty of Chemistry, and in 2011 the Cell‑Molecular Biology group was established, broadening its educational and research scope. That same year, two faculty members joined the Applied Chemistry group. Responding to contemporary scientific and research needs, the Phytochemistry and Applied Chemistry groups were added in 2025, offering undergraduate and graduate studies.
Today, the Faculty of Chemistry comprises 33 distinguished faculty members—11 full professors, 10 associate professors, and 12 assistant professors—who deliver high‑quality education, conduct advanced research, publish in reputable journals, and maintain strong collaborations with academic, research, and industrial partners, thereby contributing to the nation’s scientific and technological development.
